The term dentist use for a tooth infection is an abscessed tooth. This happens at the root of the tooth where the gum line meets the tooth.
When the tooth is infected it loses its ability to fight off infection and that allows the bacteria to infect the tooth chamber. If you pain calms down a little, it doesn’t mean that the infection is gone; it will still spread into the tissue around the tooth.

HOME REMEDIES FOR TOOTH ABSCESSES:
1. WATER AND SALT RINSES
Salt can be helpful with alleviating inflammation, and stopping the growth of bacteria because of its antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
- 1 glass of warm water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Pour the salt in the warm water and mix it well. Rinse your mouth with this mixture and spit it out. You should do this 3-4 times a day to reduce the pain and discomfort and also eliminate the infection.
2. OIL PULLING

-2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide
-1 teaspoon of warm water
You need to mix 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide with 1 tablespoon of warm water. Then rinse your mouth with this mixture and spit It out. You can also mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide to create a paste. Put the paste on the affected areas to say a few minutes. 6. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
We all know that apple cider vinegar is an old home remedy for abscessed teeth. Acetic acid and malic acid are excellent anti-bacteria’s, anti-bacteria’s and antifungals that act like powerful substances against abscessed teeth. This vinegar also contains disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties that can relieve pain and inflammation.
1 tablespoon organic apple cider vinegar
Use ACV as a mouthwash and leave it for 5 minutes in your mouth. Repeat this 2 to 4 times daily for a month.
Turmeric is proven to lessen inflammation caused by abscessed teeth. It is rich in antiseptic, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties and also helps promotes oral health.
-1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Put 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in a little water and make a paste. Apply the paste directly to the affected tooth and let it stay for 15 minutes. You can also mix 14 teaspoons of turmeric with 1 teaspoon of olive oil. This is also another paste to apply on the affected tooth for 15 minutes.
8. OREGANO OIL
Oregano oil can help you clear the infections due to its antibacterial, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. This is widely used for abscessed tooth because it helps to numb the area. Oregano oil can also help you boost your immunity and fight the tooth infections while speeding up the healing process.
-2-3 drops of oregano oil
Get the cotton swab and directly apply a few drops of oregano oil on it. Put the swab on your affected tooth and leave it for about 5 minutes. You can also prepare a mouthwash with 3 to 5 drops of oregano oil with ¼ cup of warm water. Swish this mixture in your mouth for about 5 minutes. You should repeat this process 3 to 4 times daily.
9. PEPPERMINT OIL
It can reduce inflammation and relieve you of the pain that is associated with an abscessed tooth because it has antibacterial and anti—inflammatory properties.

Get the cotton swab and apply the oil on it. Hold the swab against your tooth for a few minutes before letting go. You can apply the oil with your finger and repeat the process 3 to 4 times in a day.

We all know that chamomile can heal damaged tissues. This is because it contains anti-inflammatory properties. You can use chamomile to treat an abscessed tooth in herbal form or tea form.
