DO NOT IGNORE THESE 4 MAJOR SYMPTOMS OF A HEART ATTACK!

Over the past few years, heart attacks have become a common health problem in the U.S. In fact, it is not a huge surprise because we lead a stressful way of life and follow an unhealthy diet.

Keep in mind that following a healthy lifestyle and reducing your stress levels can help lower your risk of a heart attack. But, here is another thing that can be extremely beneficial, even lifesaving – simply learn how to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack before it occurs.

Contrary to the popular belief, a heart attack is not always characterized by specific and obvious signs, such as severe chest pain.

Namely, approximately 25% of the heart attacks occur silently without any specific or noticeable symptoms. In addition, a cardiologist, Dr. C. Crandall, has long been working to reduce, reverse, and prevent heart disease.

According to Dr. Crandall, your heart often warns you of a potential heart attack, several minutes, a few days or even a month before it occurs:
– Pains in Different Parts of Your Body

Many heart attach survivors have reported that they had experienced chest pain, which spread to the back, jaw, arms, shoulders, and abdomen before the heart attack. However, you may not experience chest pain, but pain is other parts of your body. Moreover, the pain between the shoulder blades; or in one or both arms is quite common. Even though the pain may not be constant, you should avoid ignoring it.

– High Levels of Anxiety

A great number of heart attack survivors have reported that they had experienced high levels of anxiety before the heart attack occurred. So, high levels of anxiety may be a sign of a heart attack.

Coughing

Some may cough bloody phlegm, whereas others may experience nagging cough or wheezing, which may be an indicator of heart failure. It happens since fluid starts accumulating in your lungs.

– Swelling

Swelling of the feet or ankles has been associated with standing or sitting for long periods of time. But, are you familiar with the fact that heart failure could contribute to fluid accumulation in your body? This can result in swelling of your feet, ankles, legs, or abdomen. Keep in mind you should pay attention to all these symptoms to prevent a heart attack.

Here Are a Few Other Symptoms of a Heart Attack:
  • Chest discomfort
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cold sweat
  • Nausea
  • Lightheadedness

You should not ignore all these symptoms because you think that they will go away. In case they last for more than 10 minutes, you should call 911. Another option is to ask for somebody else to drive you to the hospital. Also, you can chew an aspirin as well as swallow it. But, in case you are allergic to aspirin, avoid taking the drug.
